Kanu-tour auf der aufAltmühl
My buddy had a good idea. Canoeing on the river Altmühl. The weather report forecasted rain, but we are not made of sugar and very optimistic. Unfortunately, the weather forecast was right, but that did not bother us. We started in Treuchtlingen. On the way there were some weirs where we had to move the boats. In Zimmern at Pappenheim we made a first rest and allowed ourself a good steak. Past imposing rock formations, the 12 Apostles, we paddled to Dollstein. After an extensive dinner we drove on to the camp ground, where we built our tents. The next stage went to Inching. On the way there were two water slides, which could be traveled by canoe. Well, I'd rather stand with the camera on the riverbank and watched my buddy. In Inching we camped on a small campsite without service. A restaurant was nearby, the campsite was clean and everything was there. Fire place, wood, toilet, table and benches. Very nice, if it had not been raining. On the last day we paddled to Kipfenberg. There we were picked up by the boat rental company. Even if the weather was not on our side, I liked the tour well. From the Altmühl itself I was somewhat disappointed. The river is largely wide and has little flow. It is as if on a canal. A combined tour with bike and canoe I imagine but interesting.
Mein Kumpel hatte wieder eine gute Idee. Kanu fahren auf der Altmühl. Der Wetterbericht sagte Regen voraus, aber wir sind ja nicht aus Zucker und außerdem sehr optimistisch. Leider hatte der Wetterbericht Recht, aber das hat uns nicht gestört. Wir starteten in Treuchtlingen. Unterwegs gab es einige Wehre, an denen wir die Boote umsetzen mussten. In Zimmern bei Pappenheim machten wir eine erste Rast und gönnten uns ein gutes Steak. Vorbei an imposanten Felsformationen, den 12 Aposteln, paddelten wir bis Dollstein. Nach einem ausgiebigen Abendessen fuhren wir weiter bis zum Zeltplatz, wo wir unser Lager aufschlugen. Die nächste Etappe ging bis Inching. Unterwegs gab es zwei Wasserrutschen, die mit dem Kanu befahren werden konnten. Nun, ich stand lieber mit der Kamera am Ufer und habe meinem Kumpel zugeschaut. In Inching lagerten wir auf einem kleinen Campingplatz ohne Service. Eine Gaststätte lag in der Nähe, der Campingplatz war sauber und es war alles vorhanden. Feuerstelle, Holz, Toilette, Tisch und Bänke. Sehr schön, wenn es nur nicht unentwegt geregnet hätte. Am letzten Tag paddelten wir bis Kipfenberg. Dort wurden wir vom Bootsverleiher abgeholt. Auch wenn der Wettergott nicht auf unserer Seite war, hat mir die Tour gut gefallen. Von der Altmühl selbst war ich etwas enttäuscht. Der Fluss ist größtenteils sehr breit und hat kaum Strömung. Man kommt sich vor wie auf einem Kanal. Eine kombinierte Tour mit Fahrrad und Kanu stelle ich mir aber interessant vor.
